Resiliency Training for Providers

The Cultivating Resilience Initiative (CRI) is an initiative of The Center for Violence Prevention and Recovery (CVPR) at BIDMC. Our Resiliency Training Programs works with hospital-based providers and community-based providers to promote resiliency and healing while working with traumatized people. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.

Shapiro Institute for Education & Research

The Carl J. Shapiro Institute for Education and Research at BIDMC is dedicated to innovation in medical education. The Institute provides intellectual leadership, state-of-the-art facilities, and faculty and staff resources to support the education and training of medical students, residents, fellows and other trainees.

The Shapiro Institute for Education and Research offers many opportunities for training and networking including the "Principles of Medical Education: Maximizing Your Teaching Skills" CME Course, a uniquely comprehensive exploration of best practices for teaching medicine at the bedside, in ambulatory settings and in the classroom. Additionally, the Institute has sponsored nine Millennium Conferences since 2000 to tackle important topics in medical education, including the continuum of clinical education, patient safety, simulation in education, critical thinking and high value care.
