Anesthesia Continuing Medical Education

The Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine is proud to offer exceptional training programs for medical students, residents and fellows in all areas of anesthesia care. The goal of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) training programs is to continue education and professional development of the next generation of leaders in anesthesiology.

Dedicated faculty members are committed to providing a comprehensive education. Working with local, national and international experts, faculty design and participate in state-of-the-art educational opportunities for medical professionals in areas of interest ranging from pain medicine to perioperative transesophageal echocardiography.

Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesia (MOCA)

The Shapiro Simulation and Skills Center at BIDMC of Harvard Medical School offers the simulation-based component of the Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesia (MOCA). The Shapiro Simulation and Skills Center has received endorsement from the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) in 2010, allowing the center to offer MOCA simulation courses, participate in the ASA Simulation Education Network and contribute to advances in simulation.

The Sadhguru Center for a Conscious Planet

The Sadhguru Center for a Conscious Planet, within the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, brings together experts across multiple disciplines to discuss the understanding of consciousness and cognition. The Center offers annual conferences, workshops, online events and training for medical providers in an effort to introduce meditative approaches to improve patient outcomes.
