Other Types of Bills
You may receive separate bills from the hospital, your doctor and any specialists. Check each bill for payment instructions.
In addition to your hospital bill, you may also receive separate bills from doctors or specialists who were involved in your care. These bills are typically from your physician, radiologist, anesthesiologist or other specialists. You will need to pay these bills directly to the respective healthcare provider. Instructions for payment will be provided on each bill.
At BIDMC, we work closely with physicians and specialists to ensure you receive accurate, timely billing information. If you have questions about a bill from a doctor, contact the physician's office directly.
In some cases, BIDMC patients may receive a separate bill from a community hospital that is affiliated with BIDMC or from facilities that provide ancillary services (such as imaging or lab services). If you received care at a community hospital within the BIDMC network, you may be billed separately for services performed at that facility.
If you're unsure whether you’ll receive a bill from a community hospital or if you have questions about bills from facilities outside BIDMC, please contact the hospital billing office for clarification.
