Gynecology
Also known as Female Reproductive System Care
Personalized Gynecologic Care
Gynecologists are specialized doctors who care for the female reproductive system, including the uterus (womb), ovaries, fallopian tubes, vagina and external genitalia. At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), our gynecologists focus on preventive wellness care while providing timely, expert evaluation and treatment for any gynecologic health concerns that may arise.
Our Division of Gynecology offers comprehensive services, from routine preventive care to the most advanced medical and surgical treatments. We also provide dedicated support for menopause and other mid-life changes through comprehensive, multidisciplinary programs designed to enhance women’s physical, emotional and long-term health.
We are committed to using the latest research-backed innovations and technologies to deliver the best possible outcomes. With a patient-centered and inclusive approach, we work closely with you to support your reproductive health at every stage of life.

More About Gynecology
Routine, Preventive Care
Just as seeing your primary care provider for wellness visits is essential for your overall health, visiting your gynecologist for routine care is also important. Routine care may include screenings such as Pap smears and human papillomavirus (HPV) tests. By staying current on your preventive care, your doctor can help improve your well-being and diagnose any potential health conditions before they become more advanced.
