Special Testing: PFT and Sleep

We also offer pulmonary function tests (PFTs) at BIDMC – Chestnut Hill. These breathing tests measure how well your lungs are working. The most common test is spirometry, which measures how much air your lungs can hold and how quickly you can exhale.

Our Sleep Disorders Center includes specialists in both pulmonary and neurology sleep medicine. We offer overnight and daytime sleep studies at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton, as well as home sleep studies when appropriate.
