Orthopedic Trauma Services When You Need Immediate Care
When you experience an orthopedic trauma, your care usually begins in the emergency department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). Our trauma team works with emergency doctors and nurses, orthopedic plastic surgeons, and other specialists to coordinate your care.
BIDMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center. We are equipped to handle all types of musculoskeletal trauma 24/7. We quickly and accurately diagnose your orthopedic emergency and stabilize your injuries.
Advanced, Personalized Care
We create an efficient treatment plan personalized to your orthopedic injury. You may need emergency surgery, or you may be admitted to the hospital. If you require an orthopedic procedure, you receive care in a BIDMC trauma surgery suite.

Ongoing, Follow-Up Care
Your trauma care team provides ongoing care to help you through recovery. Please make a follow-up appointment with us. We continue to monitor your care at our outpatient trauma clinic in the Carl J. Shapiro Department of Orthopaedics.
Our team can also help you manage an older traumatic injury. Our orthopedic trauma specialists take referrals for treatment and reconstruction surgery.
