Diagnosis & Treatment

The hand and upper extremity experts at BIDMC use a wide range of musculoskeletal imaging and tests to treat and manage your condition. We use a conservative, team approach to your care.

Whenever possible, we use the least invasive orthopedic treatments available, such as occupational or physical therapy. We also provide image-guided injections for pain relief. If your condition does not respond, your doctor may recommend surgery.

Precision Hand Therapy

When you have a hand condition or injury, our certified hand therapists can help. We provide hand rehabilitation and treatment to increase flexibility and strength. We also design personalized care plans to improve your recovery after surgery.

Comprehensive Hand, Wrist & Arm Surgery

If you need surgery, we offer a full range of hand, wrist and arm procedures. Our team provides expert care for common conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome and the most complex traumatic injuries. We partner with plastic and reconstructive surgery specialists to perform upper extremity reconstructive microsurgery and replantation when needed.
