Understanding Psychosis

Psychosis is a condition that affects the mind. It causes people to perceive or interpret things differently from those around them. This might include seeing or hearing things that others do not, holding strong beliefs not based in reality or feeling disconnected from reality. Psychotic symptoms can lead to feelings of isolation and hopelessness. It is important to remember that psychosis is treatable, and recovery is possible.

Eligibility for ASPIRE

ASPIRE is a first-episode psychosis clinic that focuses on early intervention. We emphasize hope, community integration and sustainable recovery.

The ASPIRE Clinic may be a fit if you:

  • Are between the ages of 19 and 45.
  • Have begun experiencing changes such as unusual thoughts or behaviors, like hearing or seeing things that others cannot.
  • Have been experiencing symptoms for more than one week, but less than 5 years.
  • Have a support system willing to be involved in your care.

We develop treatment plans in alignment with your personal goals. ASPIRE offers both in-person and virtual appointments. The length of treatment is typically two years.
