Medical Student Psychiatry Education
Our commitment to training and developing the next generation of psychiatry specialists is longstanding. We offer numerous education programs to qualified medical students, including our eight-week summer research fellowship, which is designed to promote diversity in the field of psychiatry biomedical research.
The one-year fellowship in Consultation-Liaison (CL) Psychiatry co-sponsored by the Harvard Medical School Departments of Psychiatry at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston Healthcare System, aims to foster a strong appreciation for the interactions between Psychiatry and other medical specialties.
This ACGME-accredited program is an exciting opportunity to study the intersection of psychiatry and specialties such as Internal Medicine, Neurology, Transplant, Oncology, OB-GYN, Surgery, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and more under the guidance of expert BIDMC and VA Boston Healthcare System faculty.
The Department of Psychiatry's Continuing Education Program at BIDMC provides continuing education to mental health practitioners and other health professionals beyond their formal training.
Most of the programs and conferences are presented in conjunction with Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education.
