Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowships
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychology
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology offer internship and fellowship programs providing invaluable education and training experience to future leaders in the fields of psychiatry and psychology.
Implementation of Evidence Based Interventions in Public Sector Mental Health Fellowship
This Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship is embedded in one of the specialty programs within Massachusetts Mental Health Center (MMHC), part of the Department of Mental Health (DMH) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This may include:
- The Emerging Young Adult Service, which provides individual psychotherapy, medication management, group therapy, substance use counseling, and a milieu environment to DMH-connected young adults ages 18 to 26 diagnosed with severe mental illness.
- The Rapid Access to Flexible Treatment (RAFT) program, which provides individual and group therapy within a semi-structured day program for DMH-eligible adults with severe mental illness. Groups at RAFT include CBT for psychosis, DBT Skills, and Substances and Recovery.
- The Center for Early Detection and Response to Risk (CEDAR) clinic, which services children and adolescents who have been identified as clinical high risk (for psychosis spectrum disorders) and is premised on the importance of providing early intervention to children/adolescents and their families.
All services are staffed by a multidisciplinary team of providers including a psychiatrist, a clinical psychologist, and several clinical social workers.
The activities of the fellowship will be evenly split between research and clinical activities and will include supervision and training activities as well. Applicants should have a strong interest in delivering high quality, evidence-based mental health care to individuals from historically underserved and underrepresented communities and in program evaluation and development.
This position provides an opportunity for an early-career psychologist to become invested in building and evaluating programs within DMH in order to ensure that we are providing effective and efficient treatment to the populations we serve.
