Supportive Birth Collaborative
Patient-Centered Pregnancy and Postpartum Care
Founded in November 2021, the Supportive Birth Collaborative (SBC) is a diverse group of people who work together to identify, implement and test interventions that aim to improve patient experiences and outcomes during pregnancy and the postpartum period. SBC’s current focus is on integrating doulas in the care provided on BIDMC’s labor and delivery unit, while strengthening the relationship between clinicians and doulas. Equity in processes and outcomes, in addition to ensuring a patient-centered approach to care, are at the center of all we do.
