You will receive a thorough evaluation that includes your medical history and a physical exam. This comprehensive visit with your headache specialist will last about an hour.
Then, we will talk with you about next steps and possible treatment options. In some cases, your doctor may order these or other screening tests:

What to Bring to Your Appointment
A list of your medications:
- Prescription and over-the-counter medicines
- Vitamins, herbs and supplements
- Dose or amount of each
- How often you take each
- Results of any imaging tests (X-Rays, CT scans or MRIs) you’ve had related to the problem
Please be sure to keep a headache diary before your appointment, and bring this diary to your visit. This will give the doctor a record of these issues:
- Frequency, severity and duration of your headaches
- Your medication use
- Identification of possible triggers
