About Our Consultation Service
The Surgical Pathology Consultation Service is available to provide enhanced consultation services for difficult and problematic cases. Our services feature:
- Internationally recognized experts in surgical pathology with decades of combined experience.
- A consult coordinator dedicated to the Surgical Pathology Consultation Service.
- Prioritization of consultation cases to ensure timely reporting of diagnosis.
- Ancillary immunohistochemical studies performed as needed.
Turnaround Time Details & Reporting of Results
Every effort is made to ensure timely reporting of consultation cases. However, given the difficult or complex nature and the need for adjunctive studies in some cases, reaching a final diagnosis may take over 48 hours.
We provide reporting of results by fax.

Step 2: Mail Forms with Materials

We strongly suggest sending completed forms and materials via courier or express mail, with signature or receipt required.
The Surgical Pathology Consultation Service also provides consultation services to facilities and physicians located outside of the Unites States. In addition to the ordering instructions, we do require the pathology report be in English. A rough translation by the pathologist requesting the consultation is acceptable. Please also make sure to include an email address for easier communication.
