Gerontology Fellowship

Shaping the Future of Gerontology

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's (BIDMC) Gerontology Division sponsors the ACGME-accredited Harvard Medical School Multicampus Geriatric Medicine Fellowship for physicians interested in academic career paths in geriatric medicine. Established in 1978, this fellowship is one of the oldest in the country. The Geriatric Medicine Fellowship prepares graduates for distinguished careers as health care leaders in the field of aging, preparing the next generation of clinicians in the art and science of geriatric medicine.

Program participants have the option to receive specialized training in one of several tracks, including research, education and health policy. Mentorship opportunities and tailored training plans round out an educational program designed to prepare participants for careers in clinical care and leadership. In addition to specialized track options, participants also have the opportunity for additional training.
