Division of Experimental Pathology

Experimental Pathology Care, Research & Education

The Division of Experimental Pathology leads research initiatives for the Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). We also host numerous education and training programs to help develop the next generation of pathologists.

More About the Division

Care & Services

We operate at the leading edge of pathology care, conducting groundbreaking research to help deepen the understanding of this critical area of medicine. Our research discoveries are translated into actionable insights, helping our specialists provide safer, higher quality care and improved outcomes for patients.

Education & Training

The faculty maintains active training programs for medical and graduate students from Harvard Medical School, and postdoctoral PhD and MD research fellows.

These include our Experimental Pathology Seminar Series, which features scientists presenting their research findings, as well as the Data Club, where postdoctoral fellows and graduate students present their findings to faculty and peers.

Research

Our researchers focus on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying conditions like Alzheimer’s Disease and the progression of tumors, revealing critical insights that enable our pathologists to diagnose and treat our patients’ conditions most effectively.
