Care for All Skin Conditions
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) offers leading-edge dermatology care for our community. Through our ongoing research studies and our affiliation with Harvard Medical School, we offer the latest diagnostic and treatment options. From the most common to the rarest conditions, our specialists in the Department of Dermatology are here for you.
Dermatology at BIDMC
Dermatology covers care for benign (noncancerous) and malignant (cancerous) skin disorders. There are many types of benign skin conditions that may cause you discomfort or displeasure with the appearance of your skin. These conditions may even reduce your quality of life. And if left untreated, they can lead to serious medical complications.
We will diagnose, treat and manage your concerns with your overall health in mind. Our goal is to get you feeling and looking well.
If you have a suspicious mole or lesion, our dermatologists are specially trained in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. We team up with colleagues in the Cancer Center at BIDMC to deliver multidisciplinary care for melanoma and other skin cancers. We also offer you cutting-edge clinical trials that may help treat advanced cancers.

More About Dermatology
For your convenience, we offer established patients virtual dermatology appointments. You can schedule a visit with the same provider or any one of our board-certified dermatologists by calling 617-667-3753.
Here are some tips to prepare for your virtual dermatology appointment:
- We will schedule your teledermatology visit in a one-hour window.
- You’ll get instructions to send in a photograph of the area of your skin that concerns you.
- Before your visit, our dermatologists will review the photos of your skin growth or skin rash. This way, we’ll be ready to discuss your concerns during your virtual visit.
- The dermatologist may ask if you would be willing to connect face-to-face using video applications such as BIDMC Virtual Visit Open Consultation or Doximity Dialer. Your doctor can instruct you on how to use these video applications at the time of your teledermatology visit.
- As always, we will work with you to develop a management plan that works best for you and goals for your health.
