Translational Research Hubs

Accelerating Discovery. Advancing Patient Care.

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) has long been recognized for both groundbreaking biomedical research and exceptional patient care. To build on these strengths, BIDMC has established Translational Research Hubs: interdisciplinary communities designed to accelerate the development of new treatments, therapies, and personalized medicine. These research hubs are part of BIDMC’s InSPIRE Strategic Plan.

What Are Translational Research Hubs?

The Hubs bring together researchers, clinicians, and trainees from across BIDMC and the Beth Israel Lahey Health system to bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and patient care. By creating structured communities around key therapeutic areas, the Hubs foster collaboration, spark innovation, and expand opportunities for advancing precision medicine. Benefits of the hubs include:

  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration – Connecting experts from diverse fields to solve complex clinical challenges.
  • Opportunities for all career stages – Supporting established faculty and offering mentorship, networking, and pilot projects for early-stage investigators.
  • Access to shared resources – Expanding grant opportunities, providing infrastructure, and enhancing research impact.
  • Industry and system-wide partnerships – Welcoming colleagues from across Beth Israel Lahey Health and selected industry collaborators.
