Endoscopic Technology Research
BIDMC's Center for Endoscopic Innovation (CEI) is a leader in local, national, and international research trials investigating new endoscopic technologies. Current areas of active investigation include:
- Quality and safety in endoscopy and GI anesthesia
- Artificial intelligence applications for GI endoscopy
- Cryoablation techniques for eradication of Barrett's esophagus
- Use of lumen-apposing metal stents for pancreatic drainage and necrosectomy
- Novel treatments for GERD
- Fine needle biopsy techniques for pancreatic cancer and cysts to grow 'organoids' for discovery and validation of personalized chemotherapuetic approaches
- Developmental research in advanced resection and third space endoscopy
