Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship FAQs

The general cardiology program uses the standard ERAS common application form, but some of our specialty programs do not use ERAS. Application requirements can be found on the Application Process page.

We typically conduct interviews on Fridays in September and October.

The two-year clinical core rotations are a combination of ward rotations and clinical lab rotations. See the Clinical Rotations page for details.

In an approximately "every fourth night rotation" during their clinical service months, fellows take night and weekend coverage. They generally spend four to six months during their first year and one to two months during their second year on this "every-fourth" call rotation. While on the exercise, catheterization laboratory and echocardiography rotations, they take minimal call.

Yes, the program admits trainees with either a J-1 or H1-B visa. For more information, see the Application Process page.

Class of 2017: 17 graduates

• 8 or 47% went into practice
• 6 or 35% went into advanced fellowships at BIDMC or elsewhere
• 3 or 18% went into research positions

Class of 2016: 15 graduates

• 4 or 27% went into practice
• 11 or 73% went into advanced fellowships at BIDMC or elsewhere

Class of 2015: 20 graduates

• 15 or 75% went into practice
• 4 or 20% went into advanced fellowships at BIDMC or elsewhere
• 1 or 5% went into research positions
