Treatment and Diagnosis of Headaches
The BIDMC Comprehensive Headache Center diagnoses and treats a variety of headache disorders. Our team includes a neurologist, integrative medicine specialist, acupuncturist and pain psychologists who will evaluate your condition and develop an individualized treatment plan.
Treatment options include drug therapy, procedures and non-drug treatments and incorporate medical expertise from a range of specialties, including anesthesiology, pain medicine, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, neurotology and ophthalmology. We also offer integrative therapies such as acupuncture, biofeedback, relaxation therapy and meditation.
The Comprehensive Headache Center participates in world-renowned clinical and basic research to identify the causes of headache and the best treatments to relieve headache symptoms and restore quality of life. These research studies offer our patients the opportunity to participate in important clinical trials that will further advance the knowledge of headache treatment.
