Colon and Rectal Cancer
Colorectal cancer is a cancer that starts in the colon or the rectum. Most colorectal cancers begin as a growth called a polyp on the inner lining of the colon or rectum.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a condition in which the gastrointestinal tract is inflamed causing pain and other symptoms. Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are the main types of IBD.
Benign Diseases
Benign diseases of the colon, rectum and anus include diverticulitis, rectal prolapse, fecal incontinence, hemorrhoids, anal fistulae, and fissures. These conditions sometimes require surgery.
