Comprehensive Mental Health Services

The Department of Psychiatry of Harvard Medical School at BIDMC offers comprehensive mental health services to patients from early adults to seniors. We strive to create new knowledge about the causes of these illnesses and to create new and more effective treatments for them through breakthrough research.

Our faculty of more than two hundred is involved in a broad array of clinical, research and teaching activities, and provides care throughout the region for diverse populations. In addition, we sponsor superb training programs including a world-class residency in psychiatry, internship in clinical psychology, and fellowships in neuropsychiatry and neuropsychology, investing in the advancement of our field into future generations.
