A one-year program supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine
The Joan and Marcel Zimetbaum Fellowship, established in 2021 and named for the parents of Director of Clinical Cardiology Dr. Peter Zimetbaum, aims to support the training of students in health outcomes and policy research.
In partnership with the Smith Center, the Fellowship is a unique one-year intensive research training program designed to provide foundational training in biostatistics and public health, pairing a physician in training with a dedicated faculty researcher for one-on-one mentorship. The Zimetbaum Fellow will focus their research on health services and outcomes, clinical epidemiology, public and population health, and/or health policy.
