General Medicine Fellowship

Research Training in General Medicine

The Harvard Medical School Fellowship in General Medicine and Primary Care Program offers 2-year academic fellowships to prepare physicians for academic medicine careers.

The fellowship site at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is located in the Section for Research of the Division of General Medicine. The Division of General Medicine is committed to excellence in patient care, teaching, research and leadership.

Our program aims to:

  • Provide fellows with a solid background in clinical research methods and statistical analysis.
  • Teach fellows the essentials of performing research in general internal medicine through collaboration with faculty members.
  • Prepare fellows to become confident teachers and public speakers.
  • Ensure that our graduates are prepared for successful careers as clinician-investigators.
