Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) plastic surgeons offer the full range of cosmetic plastic surgery services. Our board-certified surgeons are highly experienced. We take a personalized, respectful approach to your care. Our goal is to improve your appearance and quality of life through cosmetic procedures.
We provide a broad range of techniques to address the natural process of aging in these areas:
We take time to listen carefully to your concerns, and help you understand the options available to you. These include, but are not limited to:
We can use these minimally invasive injectables to gently decrease or fill in wrinkles around the eyes, forehead region, lips and cheek area:
Our dermatology colleagues also have the latest in lasers, radiofrequency and microneedling devices for skin rejuvenation, skin tightening, and hair removal.
Our surgeons offer these advanced breast surgeries:
Liposuction is a cosmetic, plastic surgical procedure that sculpts and shapes the contours of the body. The surgeon removes fat deposits from under the skin using a vacuum-suction cannula. (This is a hollow, pen-like instrument.)
We use liposuction to remove fat in these areas:
Our surgeons can perform liposuction on multiple body areas during the same procedure. Liposuction is not for weight loss or as a replacement for diet and exercise.
If you think you have localized, stubborn fat areas that do not respond to diet and exercise, please contact us for a consultation. If you are a good candidate for liposuction, we can help you feel and look better.
A tummy tuck is a body contouring plastic surgery procedure to improve the shape of your abdominal area. We usually achieve it with these steps:
A tummy tuck can give you a smaller waistline, firmer abdominal muscles and a flatter abdomen.
A thigh lift is a cosmetic plastic surgical procedure to reshape the thighs by reducing excess skin and, in some cases, fat. This results in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. It also decreases the sagging or drooping in the inner or outer thigh.
If diet and exercise did not achieve your goal of youthful, firmer thighs, you may want to consider a surgical thigh lift. The best candidates for thigh lifts are people with excess skin and soft tissue along the inner thigh region and/or the outer thigh whose weight has been relatively stable.
A lower body lift is a plastic surgical procedure that tightens the thighs and the buttocks. The surgeon removes excess skin and tissues from the outside hip and inner thigh. If you have loose, sagging lower body skin with a sizeable amount of stubborn fat, you may be a good candidate for lower body lift surgery.
We perform a lower body lift through an incision that follows the underwear line around the entire body. Usually, we remove a generous portion of redundant skin and underlying tissues. Although the scar is long, it usually heals well. You can cover it with most clothing and swimsuits.
An arm lift is a body contouring plastic surgery procedure to reshape the bottom portion of the upper arm, from the underarm region to the elbow. Massive weight loss, aging and sometimes heredity may give a sagging appearance to the upper-arm. Exercise cannot correct loss of skin elasticity and localized fat deposits.
An arm lift can provide a tighter, firmer appearance to the upper arm. After having an arm lift you may not want to wear long sleeves to hide your arms, and you may be able to enjoy exercising and even wear swimsuits.
If you’ve lost a large amount of weight, you may have excessive skin folds and tissue. These can make you feel uncomfortable wearing certain types of clothes or participating in certain activities. Having a total body lift (body contouring) can make a huge difference.
To be a candidate, you should have reached a stable weight while eating right and exercising regularly. Body contouring can help you improve your appearance and quality of life while also improving your physical and emotional state.
Body contouring includes these surgical procedures:
We can perform these separately or in various combinations. Some people have skin removal or body contouring procedures after meeting their weight loss goals from bariatric surgery.
We offer breast procedures as part of body contouring:
