More About Infusion

Preparing for Your Appointment
Preparing for Your Infusion

We want to do everything we can to ensure you receive safe and effective care. Please speak with one of your care team members if you have any questions or concerns. The time of your appointment and the length of time you will be in the unit depends on the treatment you are receiving. Your nurse will be able to tell you what to expect.

Our unit can be very busy. Please understand that if you are late for an appointment, we may not be able to provide your infusion that day. If this happens, we will work with you to reschedule. We thank you in advance for making every effort to be on time for your appointments.

Before Your Appointment

If you are receiving an infusion of medication, you must order your medication and complete a phone screening the night before your appointment. Call 617-667-1522 after 6 pm and choose option #2 to get started.

If you have a cold, flu or other infection, you may need to reschedule your appointment. Contact your doctor who ordered your infusion to find out.

If your care requires you to receive repeated infusions or medications, we encourage you to schedule at least two appointments in advance.

Visitors & Amenities
Hospital Visitors

We welcome hospital visitors. One family member or loved one can stay with you during your appointment. Due to space constraints, we cannot accommodate more than one visitor. Children under 12 years old are not permitted in the infusion area.

TV Service

We offer TV service at each infusion chair. Because of the proximity of one chair to the next, we recommend you bring headphones or ear buds to watch TV during your treatment.

Internet

We offer free wi-fi.

Food

We provide a variety and drinks. We also have a patient refrigerator where you can store your own food.
