Neuropathology & Demyelinating Disorders Research
Neuropathology & Demyelinating Disorders Research Activities
The Department of Neurology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is conducting research in the areas of oligodendrocyte biology and multiple sclerosis (MS) genetics.
Neuropathology & Demyelinating Disorders Laboratories
- Anderson Lab: Led by Dr. Matthew Anderson, this lab studies the molecular, cellular and neural network mechanisms responsible for disorders of membrane excitability and synaptic transmission in the central nervous system.
- Sloane Lab: Led by Dr. Jacob Sloane, this lab is interested in understanding the mechanisms behind progression in MS. Understanding the molecular basis of each should lead to new therapeutic approaches to progressive MS.
