About Our Podiatric Surgery Residency
The Division of Podiatry sponsors a three-year residency program in podiatric surgery.
First Year
The first year consists of a rotating surgical internship designed to prepare the new podiatric graduate with knowledge and skills to care for the general surgical and hospitalized patient. Rotations include:
- Internal medicine
- Emergency medicine
- Anesthesiology
- General surgery
- Vascular surgery
- Infectious disease
- Radiology
- Rheumatology
Second and Third Years
The second and third years of the podiatric surgery residency are devoted to the development of surgical knowledge and skills. This includes surgical training in diabetic foot surgery, trauma and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle.
