Birth & Infant Care

Prepare for Giving Birth

Our Birth and Infant Care Class prepares new parents for their upcoming labor and birth, empowering them with the knowledge they need to feel confident bringing their newborn home for the first time.

This is a one-day, all-inclusive class, starting at 8am and concluding at 4pm. A lunch break will be provided, but participants must bring their own meals, snacks and drinks. There is a cafeteria near the classroom and food courts located within walking distance of the hospital.

We will cover a variety of topics throughout the day, including:

  • Comfort strategies
  • What to expect postpartum
  • Newborn appearance and behaviors
  • Sleeping, feeding and bathing
  • Choosing infant care products
  • And much more

We also offer an additional CPR session, where participants will simulate CPR and choking maneuvers on life-size dolls. Participants are invited to purchase the CPR anytime infant kit separately and bring it with them to class. Please note that this class does not provide CPR certification.

If you have any questions about this class, please email Jessica McCann.
