Our Plan to Advance Healthcare Equity
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has a plan to advance healthcare equity that will use real-world data to further improve communications, education and provision of care that is aligned with BIDMC’s commitment to provide extraordinary care and service to our community.
BIDMC's plan over the next five years in efforts to promote healthcare equity includes:
Year 1
- Develop a framework to promote healthcare equity
- Develop a team to promote healthcare equity across BIDMC
- Create the infrastructure, communication channels and staff/patient engagement to address healthcare equity
Year 2-3
- Ensure patient data is complete to support individual plans for patient-focused treatment
- Provide education and resources for staff to address diverse patient needs, including accommodations for disability
Year 4-5
- Reduce gaps in services provided and recruitment of staff, while growing education programming and the publication of research
