Visiting Student Clinical Anesthesiology Elective

About Our Visiting Student Scholarship in Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center offers financial assistance to two (2) third- or fourth-year medical students to complete an anesthesiology elective at BIDMC.

Each scholarship award is $2,500 and is intended to help offset the cost of housing and travel to Boston for the one-month rotation.

All interested students must apply via VSLO before completing this scholarship application. Available BIDMC anesthesiology electives include:

  • Clinical Anesthesia (AE501M.5)
  • Pain Relief in Childbirth (AE502M.1)
  • Respiratory-Surgical Intensive Care (AE503M.1a)

To be eligible, students must be in good academic standing at a US-accredited medical school and must meet all requirements for clerkship application. Please visit the Harvard Medical School Registrar's Office webpage for additional information on the HMS Exchange Clerkship Program.
