Telehealth and Elective Surgeries Update: Bariatric Surgeries at BIDMC have resumed. The weight loss surgery team is continuing to provide telehealth visits to our patients and is openly accepting new patients. In order to maximize safety and access, we are able to support patients through the majority of the weight loss surgery screening process without needing to come on site. We are also running an every-other-week virtual support group, open to all our patients on the weight loss journey. Please call 617-667-2845 or email us for more information.

RNY Gastric Bypass
Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery involves creating a pouch to route digestion around the stomach.
Gastric Sleeve
A sleeve gastrectomy reduces the size of the stomach, restricting the amount of food and liquid the stomach can hold.
LAP Adjustable Gastric Band
A band placed around the upper portion of the stomach restricts the amount of food that can be consumed at one time.
