Leading Edge Surgery for Cancer

BIDMC's Surgical Oncology Division provides compassionate, state-of-the-art surgical care, including minimally invasive surgery, for adults with a wide range of cancers. The division also trains the next generation of surgical oncologists and conducts research focused on better understanding cancer and finding innovative, new, more effective treatments. Areas of special expertise include:

• Endocrine surgery, including thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, minimally invasive adrenalectomy, and multi-disciplinary care for rare genetic cancer syndromes
• Complex pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery, including advanced robotic and Whipple procedures
• Breast surgery and multi-disciplinary breast cancer treatment
• Sarcoma and soft tissue tumor surgery, including multi-visceral resection for rare abdominal tumors
• Melanoma surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and complex problems in cutaneous oncology
