Over time, the skin can thin out and lines may appear around the nose or mouth. Injectable dermal fillers can help replace some of that lost volume and give your skin a more youthful appearance. Dermal fillers, made from hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring substance found in your skin that keeps skin plump and hydrated) are often used to help fill out:

Two popular types of cosmetic skin treatments to improve fine lines, aging skin, and discoloration, are chemical peels and microdermabrasion. Each removes surface skin cells from the outer layer of your skin. The difference between the two is that microdermabrasion is essentially a deep exfoliation by using a vacuum-type device, while chemical peels use a chemical solution applied to the outer layer of the skin.

Microdermabrasion can improve the following conditions:

• Acne
• Hyperpigmentation
• Fine lines
• Uneven pigmentation
• Clogged pores
• Minor scars
• Skin texture problems

Chemical peels can improve the following conditions:

• Acne

• Brown spots
• Blemishes

CROSS technique applies a high strength acid focally to treat small and depressed scars. It enhances collagen and elastic production inside the scars. It has shown improvement of depressed acne or chicken pox scars (especially icepick or boxcar scars). This technique is generally well tolerated and safe. Complications are rare when treatment is performed by an expert.

PRP is a process that uses the platelet-rich plasma found in your blood to promote natural hair growth in the scalp. Blood is drawn from your arm and the PRP from your blood is used for the treatment. Typically, three treatments are needed, each a month apart. Maintenance treatments are strongly recommended every three to six months to continue to see results.

Radiofrequency microneedling induces collagen growth and helps to tighten the skin and reduce scarring. Radiofrequency microneedling and laser treatments may provide similar benefits to the skin, but radiofrequency microneedling is safe for all skin types including darker skin.

Radiofrequency microneedling is used to treat:

• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Acne scars
• Large pores
• Sagging

Used to treat vascular conditions like spider veins, sclerotherapy is performed by injecting medicine into these small blood vessels, which causes them to shrink. Sclerotherapy is non-surgical; it involves an injection and is done as an outpatient procedure. After treatment, patients may have some temporary, minor side effects like bruising, stinging, swelling, redness, or discomfort. Improvements are usually seen within three to six weeks.

Subcision is a minor surgical procedure to treat depressed acne scars (especially rolling scars). A small needle will be inserted into the skin under the scar to release scar bands. This allows the skin to rise and to diminish the appearance of the depressed scar.
