Alcoholic Liver Disease Program
ALD Program
Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) is a liver condition associated with heavy alcohol use. It is the leading cause for liver transplantation in the United States.
BIDMC’s Liver Center offers a wide range of diagnostic and treatment options for patients with ALD. Our team of providers includes physicians, transplant surgeons, nurses, nutritionists, social workers, physical and behavior therapists.
We provide care for patients with:
- Alcoholic fatty liver disease
- Alcoholic hepatitis
- Alcoholic cirrhosis
Our teams provide standard of care treatment and opportunities for clinical trials. Liver Center researchers also conduct state-of-art translational and clinical research to improve the diagnosis of and find cures for ALD.
