What To Expect & How To Get the Most Out of This Service
- The Office Hours are set as a bi-weekly recurring meeting on Tuesdays from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.
- Collaborators are encouraged to join, so ensure the time works for everyone.
- This time can be used to address questions about statistical methodology and application, such as issues relating to study design, randomization, variables to be collected, etc.
- In general, requests such as power calculations and running the actual statistical analysis for your project cannot be addressed during office hours. We may not be able to address specific software questions, depending on the software and complexity.
- If you have more complex inquiries, consider the SSC's consultation services for comprehensive support. You can request these services via the Statistical Support Core intake form.
- Microsoft Teams service allows you to share your screen to facilitate the conversation. Please make sure that no Protected Health Information is shared.
- Make sure you thoroughly understand the advice shared during office hours and create an action plan for putting it into practice.
How To Prepare for the Office Hours
- Clearly outline your statistical questions beforehand.
- Prepare to provide a brief, concise overview of your project and its related questions.
- Make sure you are updated with the literature relevant to your project, including confounders, study design etc.
- Understand the type of data you have already collected or plan to collect, such as the variable types (nominal, ordinal, continuous), timing of data collection etc.
We look forward to supporting your research endeavors!
