Red Sox Name BIDMC's Dr. Ernie Gervino a Medical All-Star
The Boston Red Sox honored Dr. Ernie Gervino, director emeritus of the Clinical Physiology Laboratory at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, as our Medical All-Star.
Dr. Gervino has had a profound effect on cardiovascular care throughout his storied, almost 50-year career. He played a critical role in training generations of cardiologists, medical students, and health professionals, and continues to mentor BIDMC staff. Dr. Gervino has taken care of thousands of patients and has been a national and international leader in the field of exercise stress testing, helping to shape guidelines and standards and sharing his expertise to help diagnose cardiovascular disease.
