The
Experimental Pathology Division provides training opportunities at multiple levels from introductory experiences for undergraduates to post doctoral fellowships. Many members of our research division hold joint appointments in the Pathology Department at Harvard Medical School and participate in education of graduate students under the auspices of the Harvard Medical School BBS (Basic and Biological Sciences) graduate school program. Our department maintains a National Institutes of Health T32-based training grant in the fields of angiogenesis, inflammation, and tumor cell invasion/metastasis. The grant provides support for postdoctoral fellows and undergraduates. The latter pursue short term three month projects with a goal of increasing exposure prior to a career in the basic sciences or medicine.
In addition, many of our residents and fellows also pursue research projects contemporaneously with their training. These activities are highly encouraged.
