Center for Education
BIDMC's Center for Education facilitates the development of medical education leaders who will serve communities locally, nationally, and throughout the world.
BIDMC's Center for Education was established in 2004 to facilitate planning and coordination of the medical center's interdisciplinary and interdepartmental medical education enterprise. We support the many elements of our educational mission which serve medical students, residents, fellows, attending physicians and ultimately our patients.
The Carl J. Shapiro Institute for Education and Research, founded in 1996, continues to provide the infrastructure which allows the Center for Education to develop and promote its innovative programs aimed at excellence in teaching and research at academic medical centers. We commit to:
- sustain the highest quality educational programs for our trainees that will lead to the best and safest care for our patients;
- help maintain first-rate educational facilities; and
- foster an environment dedicated to lifelong learning.
We pledge to develop medical education leaders who will serve communities locally, nationally, and throughout the world.
