Addiction Psychiatry
Support for Substance Use Disorders
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center launched the Division of Addiction Psychiatry in 2017 partly in response to the opioid epidemic that has affected millions of people in Massachusetts and across the United States.
The division is directed by Kevin P. Hill, MD, MHS, an addiction psychiatrist and clinical researcher, who has a long record of helping patients and their families while conducting innovative research that has led to improvements in addiction treatment and policy. The Division team includes an addiction psychiatrist, social workers, two clinical addiction nurse leaders and a division administrator.
The division aims to improve the lives of BIDMC patients and their families through patient care, education and research. The addiction psychiatry team treats both inpatients and outpatients.
If you suffer from a substance use disorder, the Division of Addiction Psychiatry will work with you to reduce the impact of your addiction on key areas of your life, such as relationships, work and school.
A common saying in medical training is, Never worry alone. Our staff will work to make sure that you and your family will not have to battle substance use disorders without considerable support and expertise.
We are currently accepting new outpatients with primary care doctors at Beth Israel and our APG sites for both one-time consults and ongoing short-term treatment for medication management and psychotherapy. Contact your physician to schedule a consultation.
Please call our division administrator at 617-667-1504 with any questions.
