U.S. News & World Report Names Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center a Top Hospital in Massachusetts

BOSTON – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) has been named as a top hospital in Massachusetts by U.S. News & World Report in its 2023-2024 Best Hospitals. BIDMC was also nationally ranked in four adult specialties and was rated high performing in four specialties and 16 procedures in the group’s annual best hospital report.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions; only 12% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals ranking. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience.

BIDMC was ranked #17 in the nation for cancer care, #24 for gastroenterology & GI surgery, #45 for urology and #45 for cardiology, heart and vascular surgery. BIDMC was also high performing in four adult specialties: diabetes & endocrinology, geriatrics, neurology & neurosurgery and pulmonary & lung surgery. BIDMC was rated high performing in 16 procedures and conditions including maternity care, stroke and heart bypass surgery.

BIDMC was named as the #3 best hospital in the Boston region and #3 best hospital in Massachusetts.
