Labor Day

Some years ago, my older daughter lived in Seattle, and I was lucky enough to visit her several times. My two favorite things in that city were the dance steps embedded in the sidewalks at busy street crossing--presumably, you could lean to Cha-Cha while waiting for the light to change, and the fact that the giant laboring statue of "Working Man" was turned off every year for 24 hours on Labor Day. I have remembered that and tried to live my life accordingly.
This year, we are in Maine for a week, and we have just returned from a three hour hike, so I guess it's not entirely a work-free day, but here is the plan for the remaining hours: sit by the water with an appropriate beverage and read. Hope that your day is equally lovely
