More (Anti) Pink

It feels as though the balance may finally be shifting a bit. After years of an ever-growing pink tidal wave, this year there is another competing tide. Although there is more pink than not, at least there are some thoughtful comments and articles about this trend that seem (to me) to better reflect reality.
Here is a note I received yesterday from a friend that includes three excellent links:
Hey Hester,
This being Breast Cancer awareness month and our shared dislike of 'pink' I wanted to share some links with you.
First, in yesterday's NY Times -- you probably saw this, but the writer tried to give a somewhat balanced view. She was interviewed on NPR yesterday. You gotta love those renegades in SF though.

Then, this piece in Talking Writing, the online magazine I write for. I loved its honesty. http://talkingwriting.com/?p=24329 This piece is part of a series of writings this month by a women's cancer writing group.
And then, finally, this post on Moms Clean Air Force, which I support: http://www.momscleanairforce.org/2011/10/19/breast-cancer-pink-washing-pollutants/?utm_source=momscaf&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=socialflow
