It has been a while since I have written about the wonderful resource, Cancer and Careers. They have a fabulous website devoted to work-related concerns and send a monthly email bulletin that is always full of useful information. Here are a couple of quotes from the most recent bulletin and then the link to read more and sign up:
Healthcare Reform and You
Now that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has started to go into effect, it's time to get familiar with what some of the biggest changes are, and how they will affect you. Did you know that all new health plans must cover preventive health services? How about that help now exists for those with a pre-existing condition (ex. cancer) who previously couldn't get insurance?
Whether you are working or seeking work, in cancer treatment or recovery, we have outlined the provisions that are most important to you. For your convenience, we have grouped them into three categories:
Benefits and services
New rules for insurance companies
New routes for workers to obtain coverage
Click here to read more about each of the new rules and regulations.
