Fear of Recurrence

I have written about this before, but all of us must find ways to live with worries about recurrence. Certainly, the specific risks, the statistics, vary from one of us to another, but no one, no matter how early and small her breast cancer, gets a promise. Indeed, in my years of practice, I have seen plenty of women who are initially diagnosed with Stage III breast cancers who do fine and others, initially diagnosed with Stage I, who later recur.
Living Beyond Breast Cancer (www.lbbc.org) has just published an essay about this in their recent newsletter. Even if I weren't quoted in it, I would think it was a good piece.
