The Painting that Went and Did Its Work

Having spent the last two weeks admiring ancient Egyptian wall carvings, I could not help but notice one consistent feature. Unless the women are presented facing fully forward, they are shown with only one breast. Assume this is meant to indicate a sideways posture, but sometimes it looks a bit odd.

Generating a fair amount of controversy along the way, it recently ended up as part of a special exhibit at the Louvre. Pretty terrific, I think.
