You might be interested in this short interview with Dr James Khatcheressian of the Virginia Cancer Institute in Richmond, VA. Since my own professional life has been completely focused on psychosocial issues related to cancer, usually breast cancer, I am always happy to find articles that support my own concerns and thoughts. Psychosocial issues may be loosely defined as those which are not directly medically related.

This is especially interesting to me because of the short survey that we are running on our new Support Net homepage. The survey asks whether the most difficult part of cancer has been anxiety, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, hair loss, or other. The current results are: 33% anxiety, 33% hair loss, and 33% other. I am not really surprised, but stunned by the fact that no one has clicked on any of the medical issues. Also, it makes me realize that we have to find out what the "other" reasons are.
