Nancy Chamberlin Laboratory
Nancy L. Chamberlin, PhD is an Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator in the Department of Neurology at BIDMC. She is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and a member of the faculty of the
Division of Sleep Medicine. Major research interests of the Chamberlin lab include elucidating the neuroanatomical systems controlling respiratory homeostasis, the interactions between sleep/wake states and respiratory regulation, and sleep-disordered breathing. She is also interested in the central mechanisms of action of general anesthetics and their relationships with sleep/wake regulatory systems.
We employ methodology including state-of-the-art genetic transduction techniques, neuroanatomical tracing and immunohistochemistry,
in vitro electrophysiology, and recording from anesthetized and chronically-instrumented rats and mice.
