Nancy Chamberlin Lab: Research
Nancy L. Chamberlin, PhD is an Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator in the Department of Neurology at BIDMC. She is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and a member of the faculty of the Division of Sleep Medicine. Her major research interests include elucidating the neuroanatomical systems controlling respiratory homeostasis, the interactions between sleep/wake states and respiratory regulation, and sleep-disordered breathing. She is also interested in the central mechanisms of action of general anesthetics and their relationships with sleep/wake regulatory systems.
We employ methodology including state-of-the-art genetic transduction techniques, neuroanatomical tracing and immunohistochemistry , in vitro electrophysiology, and recording from anesthetized and chronically-instrumented rats and mice.
