●the identification of a singular and unexpected form of dyslexia in patients with periventricular heterotopia, a malformation in which nodules of misplaced gray matter are present in the brain

● the description of important white matter abnormalities in brain malformations that have historically been understood and named based on their gray matter appearance

● the discovery of abnormal sleep patterns on electrical brain wave testing (EEG) in patients with malformations of the cerebral cortex
